You have been contacted by Daybreak Overage Recovery Service, L.L.C. to inform you of the reasonable possibility that you could legally be entitled to a lump sum payment from either a government entity or a mortgage company. This is legitimate, rest assured.
With your consent, a mailing will be sent to you for completion and return. This includes a documents list the governing body requires, such as state ID, maybe proof of your Social Security #, W-9 completed, proof of your connection to the property on the day before it was sold at auction, and so forth. These along with a limited power of attorney and a fee agreement, both of which is to be signed under a notary, and mailed back to Daybreak.
Upon receiving these documents, Daybreak may need to involve an actual attorney to secure the release of the funds. If there is/are lien(s) on the property or in your name, you will be responsible for the satisfaction of money owed to the lien-holder(s) before any funds can be released. Once the funds are clear for payment, the attorney(if applicable) will receive the check, remove the attorney fee, removed the Daybreak recovery fee, and send you the remainder, per agreement.
